The Dream cut four players and suspended another for a year on Thursday to finalize its roster before Saturday’s season-opening game at San Antonio.
The players waived were DeLisha Milton-Jones, Roneeka Hodges, Courtney Walker and Jordan Jones.
Milton-Jones was the league’s oldest player (41) as well as its all-time leader in games played (499). Hodges is an 11-year veteran, while Walker was recently selected in the draft and Jones claimed off waivers.
The team suspended Damiris Dantas for the season because she will be training with Brazil for the Olympics. She is expected to rejoin the team for the 2017 season.
The Dream went 0-4 in the preseason after going 15-19 last season and breaking its string of appearing in the playoffs six consecutive seasons.
