How the winning run scored: Rightfielder Felix Pie hit a two-out, three-run homer in the fifth inning for a 9-3 lead and Gwinnett held on to end a four-game losing streak avert a sweep by Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Monday night.

At the plate: The G-Braves took control early against Yankees starter Michael O'Conner, who gave up 10 hits and six runs before being pulled after just 3 1/3 innings.

On the mound: Gwinnett starter Eric Junge (6-8) won his second straight, working five innings and allowing three runs on five hits, two of them homers.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves open a four-game series with Durham at 7:05 tonight, with Gwinnett's Julio Teheran (6-5, 4.93) facing Alex Torres (3-5, 6.79).
