One of metro Atlanta’s half marathons has a name change and route change this year.

The race formerly held in Brookhaven has a new title sponsor in Michelob Ultra — it will be called the Michelob Ultra Atlanta 13.1 — and the route is moving to Forsyth County because the race needed to move to a Saturday to satisfy one of the new title sponsor’s desires for beverage sampling.

The race, formerly known as the Allstate Life InsuranceSM Atlanta 13.1 Marathon, will be run Saturday.

More than 3,500 people are expected to participate in separate divisions for runners and walkers. A 5K will be held for younger runners or those who don’t want to do a half-marathon.

The course will start and finish at the Forsyth Conference Center.

Those participating in the race can pick up their packets and bib numbers in Buckhead, Marietta and Forsyth, or on race day in Forsyth.

This race is different from the Atlanta Half Marathon, which is organized by the Atlanta Track Club and will be run in November.
