Jack McInerney, a 17-year-old soccer player from Alpharetta, was selected seventh overall by Philadelphia in Thursday's MLS SuperDraft. The Chicago Fire drafted two more Atlanta natives: Norcross' Steve Kinney and Lilburn's Sean Johnson.

McInerney, who played for Cobb SC, is one of the rising starts in the U.S. National Team's youth system after scoring seven goals in international competitions last year.

Kinney, a defender, recently graduated from Elon. He was invited to the MLS Combine last week as an undrafted free agent. The Fire selected him in the third round. With their next pick in the fourth round they took Johnson, a goalie who played collegiately at Central Florida.
