They may not have been the fastest or the strongest, but the twin brothers who completed the Ironman triathlon this week showed a lot of heart.
They also managed to set a new record.
Peder Mondrup, 34, is believed to be the first person with cerebral palsy to complete the Ironman competition.
It took Mondrup, along with his twin brother Steen Mondrup 15 hours, 32 minutes and 48 seconds to complete the competition, according to the Huffington Post.
Triathlons are never easy, and this one for the twins was especially grueling. For the swimming portion, Steen swam while pushing Peder on a raft. The twins cycled together on a bicycle equipped with a lightweight wheelchair. After riding for 112 miles, it was time for the marathon portion of the event. For 26 miles, Steen pushed his brother in a wheelchair.
This is not the first sporting event the twins have participated in together. Over the past year, they have completed the Half Ironman triathlon, and a half-marathon.
The brothers are a hit on Facebook, where their team page has over 23,000 fans.
