Edna Kiplagat was the top female finisher in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race on Monday.

Kiplagat, a native of Kenya, completed the 6.2-mile race from Lenox Square to Piedmont Park in an unofficial time of 32 minutes, 23 seconds.

It was Kiplagat’s first AJC Peachtee Road Race win. Her prefious best finish was third in 2010.

Alexi Pappas was the defending champ, completing the 10K course last year in 33 minutes, 28 seconds.

Kenya’s Lornah Kiplagat set the race record (30:32) in 2002. Anne-Marie Lauck set the race record (31:23) for an American woman in 1996.

Neely Spence Gracey was the top U.S. finisher in an unofficial time of 32:24.
