NBC’s telecast of the Falcons’ playoff victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday night drew a 29.0 rating in the Atlanta TV market, meaning 29 percent of the market’s households watched on average.
That translates to an audience for the Wild Card game of about 700,000 homes in the Atlanta area.
In another measure, the Falcons’ 26-13 win posted a 46 share locally, meaning 46 percent of the households with TVs in use at the time in the Atlanta market were watching the game.
The game drew a slightly higher rating (30.0) but a lower share (43) in the New Orleans TV market than in Atlanta.
Nationally, across the 56 metered markets, the Falcons-Rams game posted a 14.9 overnight rating and a 26 share, according to Nielsen figures provided by NBC. The network said the game’s overnight rating across the metered markets was the best of any Saturday prime-time program on any network since an AFC Divisional playoff game on CBS on Jan. 14, 2017.
In the Los Angeles market, Saturday night’s game posted an 18.7 rating, which NBC said was the Rams’ best there since returning to L.A. in 2016.
