  • This will be the last home game for the Thrashers this month. After a three-game western road trip next week, the NHL breaks for the remainder of the month for the Olympics.
  • Both teams are playing for the second consecutive night. The Thrashers were in Washington Friday night while the Panthers hosted the Flames.

  • With the trade of Ilya Kovalchuk, Maxim Afinogenov and Rich Peverley are the Thrashers' leading goal scorers with 17.
  • New Thrashers forward Niclas Bergfors is fifth among NHL rookies in scoring with 27 points (13 goals, 14 assists).
  • Before Friday's game, the Panthers were 4-3-1 in their past eight games, having scored only nine goals.
