The Thrashers' shutout loss to the Blue Jackets on Thursday snapped a five-game point streak (3-0-2).
The Thrashers' penalty-kill unit has not allowed a goal in the past six games and is 17-for-17 dating to Oct. 22.
In his career, goaltender Chris Mason has faced 40 or more shots in a game 17 times, including the 55 he took Wednesday against the Blues. In those games he has an 11-2-4 record with a 2.59 goals-against average, .939 save percentage and two shutouts.
The Blackhawks likely will be without former Thrashers forward Marian Hossa, who has missed time with an upper-body injury.
