Peachtree Ridge won the co-ed state championship in competitive cheerleading Saturday.

It was the second consecutive state title for the Gwinnett County school.

"I thought the kids did very well," Peachtree Ridge coach Rob Spencer said. "We accomplished the goals we set, and the biggest one was to go out and have fun.

"We had some difficult parts of our routine, and we hit on them."

The other state champions were Alpharetta (Class AAAAA), Northgate (AAAA), Columbus (AAA), Calhoun (AA) and Trion (A). It was the fourth consecutive championship for Northgate.

"I'm super proud of the girls, the seniors, and their leadership," Northgate coach Sarah Frazier said. "I attribute [four in a row] to the kids. There was no secret or magic to it, just a lot of hard work."
