Milton, 31, Centennial 22: Wesley Gaston rushed for 230 yards on 35 carries and scored two touchdowns as visiting Milton remained unbeaten in Region 6-AAAAA with a 31-22 win over Centennial.

Milton (4-1, 4-0) trailed 16-14 at the half, but outscored the Knights 17-0 until a last-minute Centennial touchdown.

A dropped punt snap by the Knights (3-2, 2-2) near their goal line set up Milton’s go-ahead score midway through the third period. After the Eagles’ defense held on fourth down inside the Milton 30, they drove 72 yards for the clinching score, with backup tailback Santee Deck scoring from 13 yards out.

Milton, which drove 85 yards on 17 plays on its first series, led 7-3 before the two teams scored three touchdowns in a two-minute span late in the first half. Centennial quarterback Scott Laffler ran 13 yards for a score, but Gaston broke loose for 51 yards and his second TD three plays later.

Carlen Carty put Centennial ahead with a 36-yard run, but the offense sputtered for most of the second half.

In a game that featured a total of four interceptions, four lost fumbles and several other offensive miscues, Woodstock and junior quarterback Kevin Bolak (13 carries, 59 yards, 1 touchdown) provided just enough offense for the Wolverines to improve to 3-1.
