Week 8 of high school football: Tucker, Walton score big wins

Jordan McCoy carried 27 times for 219 yards as Tucker ran over Chamblee 40-14 Friday night in the eighth weekend of the high school football season.

McCoy has rushed for 1,280 yard and 18 touchdowns this season.

In other key games, Walton won a top-10 showdown in Class 7A, Benedictine successfully defended its No. 1 ranking while Cedar Grove did not, and Osborne, Calhoun and Toombs County had big wins

No. 3 Walton beat No. 10 North Cobb 35-27 while Benedictine beat No. 5 Burke County in Region 3.

Cedar Grove, the No. 1 team in 3A, lost to Carver of Montgomery, Ala., 13-9.
