Braves pitching prospect Ian Anderson gave up five runs in 5 -1/3 innings and the Gwinnett Stripers lost to Columbus 7-3 in Game 2 of the International League Governors’ Cup semifinals on Thursday night at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett is down 2-0 in the best-of-5 Triple-A series.

Anderson allowed six hits, walked three and struck out four.

The Stripers held an early 2-0 lead, but allowed four runs in the fourth inning.

Ryan LaMarre hit a 355-foot leadoff solo home run to right off Logan Allen to give the Stripers a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Cristian Pache extended the lead to 2-0 in the second with an RBI single.

After Columbus took a 4-2 lead, Gwinnett’s Drew Waters doubled and scored on an error.

The Stripers played without slugging outfielder Adam Duvall, who was recalled to the majors by the Braves earlier in the day.

Game 3 of the series is Friday night in Columbus.

The Stripers are the top minor-league affiliate of the Braves.
