Gwinnett County is a recruiting hotbed in the college football world. According to ESPN.com, Gwinnett County has produced the fourth-most ESPN 100 recruits in the country since 2009.
In the last decade, 24 players from Gwinnett County have ranked among ESPN’s 100 best players. That number is more impressive when compared to the relative size of the County. Gwinnett’s population is just under 900,000. The No. 1 ranked county is Los Angeles County, California. This county produced 48 ESPN 100 recruits in the last decade with a population more than 10 times the size of Gwinnett.
Norcross High School led the way with four recruits ranked in the top 100. Buford, Grayson, North Gwinnett and Greater Atlanta Christian are all tied for second with three players.
In the last 10 years, Gwinnett has had seven top-25 players. In 2013, the No. 1 player in the country Robert Nkemdiche played at Grayson. He went on to play at Ole Miss before being drafted 29th overall by the Arizona Cardinals.
