The First Tee program is definitely making a difference to the Morehouse golf team.

Philip Allen and Olajuwon Ajanaku, both graduates of the First Tee of Atlanta, helped lead the Maroon Tigers to victory in the 24th annual PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Division II championship. Allen was the medalist and shot a 2-under 214, including a final-round 69 that included a hole-out for an eagle and a birdie at No. 18.

Ajanaku and Bryan McElderry finished at 229 and tied for third in the event played at the PGA Golf Club's Wanamaker Course in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

"This says a lot about the future of the program," said Morehouse coach William Lewis, a PGA professional who doubles as director of instruction at the First Tee program at John A. White Park. "We have had 30 kids from the First Tee of Atlanta go on to golf scholarships. And to have two kids make our team ... well, I don't know any other First Tee chapters who can make such a claim."

Morehouse had a team total of 906 and won by 20 shots over runner-up Virginia State.
