THREE STORYLINES

Can Georgia State slow Louisiana-Lafayette's offense? The Ragin' Cajuns (7-2, 4-0) sit atop the Sun Belt Conference, largely because of an offense that leads the conference in scoring (38.2 points per game). That's not good news for the Panthers, who rank last in the conference in defense (36.9 points per game).

Can Georgia State's running game crack 100? After rushing for at least 136 yards against Texas State and Louisiana-Monroe, the Panthers totaled only 85 against Western Kentucky. They will need to run, or at least complete quick, short passes, to stay on the field and keep Louisiana-Lafayette's offense off. It won't be easier with an offensive line that is being held together with duct tape.

Will records be set? Quarterback Ronnie Bell needs 223 passing yards to match Drew Little's total of 2,570 for the most in a career in school history. Albert Wilson is on the verge of tying or setting several school records. He needs four receptions to tie Danny Williams' single-season record of 54. He is 77 yards from tying the single-season record he holds (947) and one more touchdown would tie the single-season record he holds (seven).

MATCHUP TO WATCH

Georgia State LB Joseph Peterson vs. Louisiana-Lafayette RBs Alonzo Harris and Elijah McGuire. Harris averages almost 80 yards per game and has scored 12 touchdowns. McGuire has rushed for 64 yards per game, but has averaged 9 yards per carry. Peterson leads the team with 67 tackles, 15 more than the next-best, Tarris Batiste.
