LOS ANGELES – The Georgia Bulldogs arrived in L.A. on Friday, gearing up for their national championship game vs. TCU on Monday at SoFi Stadium.

A couple of injury questions remain for Georgia, including that of tight end Darnell Washington, who sustained an ankle injury in the Peach Bowl win vs. Ohio State on Dec. 31, and offensive lineman Warren McClendon, who injured his knee in the SEC Championship game win vs. LSU on Dec. 3.

After getting off the plane, UGA coach Kirby Smart said McClendon has been making progress and is doing better this week and that he’s hopeful to get him back for the national title game. Smart didn’t give a firm update on whether either player would be available to play, though Washington could be seen walking off the plane and to the team bus without the use of crutches or a walking boot, which he had used after sustaining the injury in the semifinal.

“Warren McClendon, yeah, he’s been working,” Smart said. “He’s felt a lot better this week in terms of what he’s been able to do compared to previous weeks. And we’re hopeful to have Darnell ready.”
