Former University of Georgia graduate assistant and long-time junior college coach Bert Williams died Monday after a two-year battle with cancer.

Williams served as a graduate assistant for UGA coach Ray Goff from 1990-93 before achieving huge success during a 23-year career at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville. Williams had a record of 156-58 at GMC, winning a national championship and three national coach of the year awards. Williams was inducted into the National Junior College Hall of Fame in 2010.
