Former Thrashers return to bolster new look roster

The Thrashers on Monday announced the signing of four unrestricted free agents — defenseman Joel Kwiatkowski, forward Jason Krog and goaltenders Drew MacIntyre and Peter Mannino.

Kwiatkowski, a former Thrasher, played in Russia last season, recording 45 points (16 goals, 29 assists) for Cherepovets of the Continental Hockey League (KHL). The 32-year-old has appeared in 282 NHL games with the Thrashers, Washington, Florida and Pittsburgh.

Kwiatkowski (6 feet, 205 pounds) also appeared in 356 AHL games, including a stint with the Thrashers' AHL affiliate Chicago, which won the 2008 Calder Cup.

Krog, also a former Thrasher, appeared in 14 games for the club during the 2006-07 season. He played for Manitoba of the AHL last season.

While playing for the AHL Chicago franchise, Krog was named the league MVP for the 2007-08 season. The 33-year-old has played in 202 NHL games in his career with the Thrashers, New York Islanders, Anaheim, New York Rangers and Vancouver.

He won the NCAA's Hobey Baker Award as the nation's top college player after the 1998-99 season at New Hampshire.

MacIntyre, 26, has a 91-49-8 record with a 2.32 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage in 155 career AHL games with Grand Rapids, Manitoba and Milwaukee.

Mannino, 25, appeared in 34 games for Bridgeport in the AHL last season, posting a 17-2-2 record with a 2.94 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage.
