Forbes: Hawks worth $425 million

Forbes unveiled its annual NBA team valuations Wednesday and the Hawks came in at 27th with a net worth of $425 million.

Only the Pelicans ($420 million), Bobcats ($410 million) and Bucks ($405 million) are worth less according to the publication. It reported the average worth on an NBA franchise at $634 million. The Knicks are the league’s most valuable franchise at $1.4 billion.

The Hawks’ 34 percent value change over last year did represent the the fifth largest increase among the 30 teams said the report. The publication listed the Hawks’ revenue at $119 million.

According to the report, the Hawks are one of four NBA teams that lost money on an operating basis at $3.6 million. The Nets ($19 million), 76ers ($3.8 million) and Timberwolves ($2.7 million) are the other franchises losing money.
