UPDATE: The Jacksonville Jaguars are set to name Todd Wash as their new defensive coordinator, according to the Florida Times-Union. An official announcement and press conference is expected today.

FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons defensive back coach Marquand Manuel, who's in the running for the defensive coordinator position with the Jacksonville Jaguars, will know if he landed the job soon.

The Jaguars coaching staff is set to coach in the Senior Bowl next week. The team "expects" to have the new defensive coordinator in place by Monday, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Jacksonville coach Gus Bradley has interviewed Manual, Miami’s Lou Anarumo and Jim Schwartz, who recently accepted Philadelphia’s defensive coordinator position. Jaguars defensive line coach Todd Wash is considered the front-runner.

Manuel joined the Falcons as secondary coach/senior defensive assistant after spending three seasons as a member of the Seattle Seahawks coaching staff.

Manuel came to the Falcons after serving as a defensive assistant for two years under Falcons coach Dan Quinn while Quinn was the defensive coordinator for the Seahawks.

Manuel began his coaching career after spending eight years in the NFL as a defensive back. He was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the sixth-round (181st overall) of the 2002 NFL Draft out of Florida and played in 116 games with 58 starts during his career with the Bengals, Seahawks, Packers, Panthers, Broncos, and Lions.
