1. Marcell Dareus, Alabama, 6-3, 319: He dominated last season after serving a two-game NCAA suspension. He had 11 tackles for loss, 4 1/2 sacks and 10 quarterback hurries last season.

2. Robert Quinn, North Carolina, 6-4, 255: As a sophomore, he was a first-team All-ACC selection after leading the conference with 19 tackles for loss and finishing second with 11 sacks.

3. Nick Fairley, Auburn, 6-4, 298: He won the Lombardi Award. He used his superior speed and quickness to dominate last season.

4. J.J. Watt, Wisconsin, 6-5, 290: He was a consensus first-team All-Big Ten pick. He led the Badgers with 21 tackles for loss. He also had seven sacks, 10 quarterback pressures, three forced fumbles and three blocked kicks.

5. Cameron Jordan, California, 6-4, 287: He's the son of former Minnesota Vikings tight end Steve Jordan, who played from 1982 to 1994 in the NFL after coming out of Brown. Cameron moves extremely well and understands how to use leverage to his advantage.

6. Da'Quan Bowers, Clemson, 6-3, 280: He was considered a potential No. 1 overall pick after registering 15 1/2 sacks for the Tigers last season. He had arthroscopic surgery to repair torn cartilage in his right knee in January. The shaky knee coupled with Bowers running a slow 40-yard dash time at his Pro Day has caused his stock to drop.

7. Aldon Smith, Missouri, 6-4, 263: He is a superior pass rusher. He set the school record with 11 1/2 sacks as a redshirt freshman in 2009. He was injured for parts of last season, but still managed 5 1/2 sacks.

8. Ryan Kerrigan, Purdue, 6-4, 266: He was chosen the Big Ten's defensive player of the year and was a consensus All-America selection after leading FBS schools with 26 tackles for loss.

9. Corey Liuget, Illinois, 6-2, 300: He's quick enough to beat his blocker off the snap and has the power to bull rush. "He's a little underappreciated coming out of the Big Ten," Mel Kiper wrote in his draft report. "There are other defensive tackles out there with more publicity, but I wouldn't count Liuget out from being a Pro Bowl caliber tackle some day."

10. (tie) Cameron Heyward, Ohio State, 6-4, 293: The Peachtree Ridge High product started 43 of 52 games in four seasons for the Buckeyes. He recorded 163 tackles, 37 1/2 tackles for loss, 15 1/2 sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

10. Adrian Clayborn, Iowa, 6-2, 283: Despite Erb's Palsy, a condition that has left his right arm weaker than his left, he dominated college competition, including Georgia Tech in the 2010 Orange Bowl.

On the fringe: Jabaal Sheard, Pittsburgh; Brooks Reed, Arizona; Justin Houston, Georgia; Allen Bailey, Miami; Muhammad Wilkerson, Temple; Stephen Paea, Oregon State; Phil Taylor, Baylor, and Marvin Austin, North Carolina.
