Here’s are five things we learned from the Falcons’ 43-minute walk-through practice on Wednesday:

1. Roster moves. The Falcons got a head-start on trimming their roster when they waived wide receiver Reginald Davis III, tackle Wil Freeman and safeties Jordan Moore and Deron Washington. The Falcons also reached an injury settlement with tackle Kevin Graf. The roster is now 86 players. The Falcons must cut down to 53 players by 4 p.m. on Saturday.

2. Prepping the reserves. The Falcons will not play most of their starters against the Jaguars in the exhibition finale Thursday. "The ones on offense and defense, we just gave the young guys a look to prepare them for the game," wide receiver Julio Jones said after practice. Coach Dan Quinn isn't too concerned about mistakes. He's looking for "effort and intensity."

3. Pasztor works out. Falcons tackle Austin Pasztor, who will not play against Jacksonville as he's recovering from a pectoral injury, got in some individual work after practice going one-on-one against newly signed defensive end/tackle A.J. Jefferson.

4. Jefferson to play. Jefferson, who played at Mississippi State, will get some action against the Jaguars. "We wanted to add another player inside," Quinn said. "We got a chance to see him (against Pasztor) and we'll see him the game."

5. Kazee out. Free safety Damontae Kazee (ankle), running back Brian Hill (ankle) and defensive end Martin Ifedi (ankle) were declared out of the Jacksonville game.
