Rams cornerback Marcus Peters, who played at Washington, is a big supporter of Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant.

“Tru is my dude,” Peters said from behind his NFL issued sun glasses this week ahead of Super Bowl LIII. “Tru was my big homie when I got to UW. Tru took me in. I learned a whole lot from Trufant. I owe that guy a lot. When I got there he was a redshirt junior. I played with him two years.”

Trufant was selected 22nd overall by the Falcons in 2013. Peters went 18th to the Chiefs in 2015. Fellow Washington defensive backs Sidney Jones went to the Eagles in the second round in 2017 and Kevin King went to the Packers in the second round of the 2017 draft.

“We’ve been putting together a nice little string of cornerbacks,” Peters said.
