Falcons defensive end Takk McKinley returned to practice Thursday in a limited role. McKinley took part in the individual work of the padded practice.

McKinley was listed as day-to-day at the beginning of the week with a bruised shoulder. He did not practice Monday or Wednesday. The team was off Tuesday.

“He is back doing all the individual work,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. “Today was his first day in pads. It was good to get him back into it. I would say he is close. He does all the walk-throughs at night. I would say he would will get more reps tomorrow.”

In other injury news, offensive lineman Ty Sambrailo remains out with a hand injury. Running back Ito Smith practiced for the second consecutive day after missing time with a bruised foot.
