The 2019 NFL season kicks off Sept. 3. There's a lot that the Atlanta Falcons have to achieve before then, including fixing issues with the defense and getting the offense back to form with new coordinator Dirk Koetter.

Jan. 18: Deadline for college players who are underclassmen to apply for special eligibility was Jan 14. A final list of underclassmen who have been approved for entry into the 2019 NFL Draft will be sent to clubs.

Feb. 26–March 4: NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

March 13: The 2019 league year and free agency period begin at 4 p.m.

April 25-27: Falcons hold the 14th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, which takes place in Nashville.

Mid-July: Clubs are permitted to open preseason training camp for rookies and first-year players beginning seven days prior to the club's earliest permissible mandatory reporting date for veteran players.  Clubs have until Aug. 31 to reduce rosters to a maximum of 53 players.
