Julio Jones joined the Falcons on Friday in their final workout before leaving Sunday for the Super Bowl.
The All-Pro wide receiver did not participate in practices earlier this week, as he continues to battle a sprained toe that has bothered him for a couple of months. In what amounted to a long walk-through Friday, coach Dan Quinn said, “Julio participated some.”
Pro Bowl center Alex Mack did not participate Friday. He’s been on the sideline all week since sustaining a left fibula injury in Sunday’s 44-21 win over Green Bay in the NFC Championship game. “That was the plan,” Quinn said.
Quinn continues to say that both players, who have been critical to the success of the NFL’s top scoring offense, “will be good to go next week, when the Falcons (13-5) will play the New England Patriots (16-2) in the Super Bowl in Houston’s NRG Stadium.
The Falcons will travel Sunday.
