Aug 8, 2017

All-Pro wide receiver Julio Jones of the Falcons, who had offseason foot surgery and has been limited in practice, will not play in the exhibition season opener at 7 p.m Thursday at Miami.

“Some will do some significant work before the game, but won’t play. Julio and Taylor (Gabriel), we won’t play them, but they’ll get some pregame work with Matt (Ryan),” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said after practice Tuesday.”It’s just another day for them to train.”

He also ruled out offensive tackle Kevin Graf (right arm), defensive tackle Martin Ifedi (ankle) and running back B.J. Daniels (groin).

“He’ll be down for a while,” Quinn said of Daniels.
