Persistence may have paid off for Joe Anderson.
The former NFL player was looking to get back in the league this season after being waived by the Chicago Bears.
Anderson’s unconventional approach to his NFL quest went viral earlier this year when he stood outside of the Houston Texans’ NRG Stadium with a sign that read, “Not homeless but starving for success. Will run routes for food.” The sign also contained the hashtags #underdog and #IBelieve.
Many NFL fans were moved by Anderson’s determination.
It appears the New York Jets are also impressed. The team signed Anderson to its practice squad Tuesday, according to ESPN.
Anderson posted a photo expressing his gratitude to the Jets for giving him an opportunity.
