Hester to sit out exhibition opener

Falcons returner/wide receiver Devin Hester, who missed two practices with a toe injury, will not play in the exhibition season opener against the Tennessee Titans on Friday at the Georgia Dome.

He took part in the special teams drills and was catching kickoffs early in practice on Wednesday.

Linebacker Brooks Reed dressed out, but is not expected to play. Running backs Devonta Freeman (hamstring), Tevin Coleman (hamstring), defensive end Cliff Matthews (ankle) and cornerback Desmond Trufant (shoulder) also will not play.
