Falcons long snapper Jeff Overbaugh was promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster on Thursday before the season opener against the Eagles.

Overbaugh will play for Josh Harris, who’s 103 consecutive game streak will be snapped.

In order to make room for Overbaugh, the Falcons released linebacker Dewey Jarvis, an undrafted rookie from Brown.

Harris returned to practice Tuesday with a left hip injury after he didn’t practice on Sunday and was limited Monday.

Overbaugh has played in three NFL games with the Vikings, including two playoff games last season.
