The Falcons are set to livestream the 1998 NFC Championship game against the Minnesota Vikings at 6 p.m. Monday on the team’s website.

The win over the Vikings on Jan. 17, 1999 is widely considered the biggest win in franchise history. The Falcons were heavy underdogs in the game and needed a late kick in overtime to upset the Vikings 30-27 and advance to the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history.

Fans can join the livestream at atlantafalcons.com/1998.

This an alternative viewing opportunity for Falcons fans who may not want to watch the Falcons at Saints game from 2006 when Steve Gleason blocked Michael Koenen’s punt, which will be airing on ESPN.

Six soldiers were honored, each receiving Meritorious Service Medals, Thursday for heroic actions responding to the shooting at Fort Stewart. “One of the things I can say unequivocally is that the fast action of these soldiers — under stress and under trauma and under fire — absolutely saved lives from being lost,” U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll told reporters as the six soldiers stood near him Thursday. “They are everything that is good about this nation.” (Hyosub Shin/AJC)
