For the first time in a long time all Falcons players on the active roster took part in practice.
Center Mike Person (ankle) and linebacker Justin Durant (elbow) practice on a limited basis on Wednesday after they had worked on the side with trainers during Monday’s practice. Both players missed last Thursday’s defeat at the Saints.
“I think the guys have worked really hard in terms of getting back and getting ready,” Quinn said. “For this time of year to have everybody on the roster participating in some part of practice, (I) couldn’t be more pleased with that. You can tell how hard they’ve worked in the training room with the training staff to really be at their best.”
Person suffered his injury during the game against Washington in Week 5 and didn’t play against the Saints.
“It’s getting better,” Person said before practice on Wednesday. “I’m going to give it a go and see how it feels.”
Durant has missed the past two games. He was the starter at weak-side linebacker for the first four games and was leading the team in tackles. Joplo Bartu has started in Durant’s place and Nate Stupar took his position in the nickel defense.
The Falcons signed linebacker Philip Wheeler on Tuesday. Quinn said that move didn’t necessarily mean the Falcons don’t expect Durant to return soon.
There were three new additions to the Falcons’ injury report Wednesday: safety William Moore (hand) and wide receivers Roddy White (foot) and Eric Weems (knee). The Falcons said Moore participated in the full practice while White and Weems were limited.
