Falcons cornerback Goodwin out with strain

Falcons cornerback C.J. Goodwin, who attempting to make the team after starting his career as a wide receiver, was held out of practice with a unspecified strain on Monday.

“We are hopeful that he’ll be back participating tomorrow,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. “We are hopeful for him for the game, but we’ll take it day by day.”

Goodwin played 28 snaps against Washington in the exhibition opener. He had three tackles and one pass defensed.

He’s listed as the third-string right cornerback on the team’s depth chart behind Robert Alford and Jalen Collins.
