Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid gave Falcons senior assistant coach Bob Sutton partial credit for the team’s improved defense this season.

The Chiefs, who reached the AFC title game last season, are set to play the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium.

Sutton was fired by the Chiefs after last season. He served as their defensive coordinator for six seasons (2013-18).

On Thursday, Reid was asked about the improved play of the defense under new defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo this season.

“Bob Sutton has a piece of this in his own way,” Reid said as part of his answer.
