Jacob Eason has improved enough that he could “do some things” at Georgia practice on Monday, head coach Kirby Smart said.
“Jacob’s recovering well. We hope to get him out there today to do some things,” Smart said. “We’ll find out more today to see where he’s at.”
Asked if that meant Eason could take some actual practice reps, Smart answered: “We’ll wait and see. We’ll see how he does.”
Eason suffered a sprained knee ligament early in Georgia’s season opener, after throwing only three passes. Jake Fromm replaced him and led the team to victories over Appalachian State, Notre Dame and Samford.
Fromm has completed 59.6 percent of his passes, with five touchdowns and one interception, but has also fumbled twice. He’s averaging 149.7 passing yards per game, but hasn’t played in the fourth quarter of two games
