The Falcons signed defensive tackle Terrell McClain on Friday, the team announced. McClain visited the team earlier in the day as part of free-agent visits.

McClain played for the Panthers, Patriots, Texans, Cowboys and most recently the Redskins. The 6-foot-2, 302-pounder was drafted by the Panthers in the third round (No. 65 overall) out of South Florida in the 2011 NFL Draft.

McClain signed a four-year contract with the Redskins in 2017. He appeared in 12 games and recorded 20 tackles and two sacks last season. He was released on April 30 after the one season.

Over his eight-year career, the 29-year-old McClain has 110 tackles and 6.5 sacks in 74 games, including 29 starts.
