Detroit running back Reggie Bush did not practice on Thursday, according to the team’s official injury report.
The Falcons (2-5) and the Lions (5-2) play at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Wembley Stadium.
Bush played 18 snaps last week against the New Orleans Saints. He was limited in practice on Wednesday.
Joique Bell had 48 yards rushing and scored on a 1-yard run against the Saints. Bell, more of a bruising runner, played 52 of a possible 70 offensive snaps (74%) against the Saints.
Lions coach Jim Caldwell insisted that Bush’s limited role was due to injury, not lack of production.
Bell is the team’s leading rusher with 274 yards on 84 carries. Bush, more of pass catcher and outside runner, has 171 yards rushing on 49 carries.
The Falcons are preparing to face both running backs and their contrasting running styles.
“Bell is bigger kid of guy,” Falcons linebacker Paul Worrilow said. “A guy that they’ll put at the goal line. He’ getting the bulk of the touches.
“When Bush is in there they are trying to get him out in space. You have to go have good pursuit with him. He can stop and reverse field on you real fast. We definitely have to pay attention to which one is in the game.”
