Falcons owner Arthur Blank was non-committal was asked if changes were coming to the team’s football operations department after missing the playoffs for the third straight season.

Falcons coach Dan Quinn has publicly supported both general manager Thomas Dimitroff and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.

When Blank was asked if he would accept his coach’s recommendation on either or both, he said, “I’m not going to comment on that. We’ll sit down. We’ll reflect and I’ll spend some time with him first and we’ll begin the evaluation from there.”

Blank said he’s considered all of the issues. He wants to give Quinn time to decompress from the game.

“Absolutely, you think about it all the time,” Blank said.

Dimitroff has been the general manager since the 2008 season. Quinn said

“They’ve had a great partnership this year and that’s a good reflection on both of them,” Blank said. “I need a little bit of time. I need to spend some time with him out of respect for the coach and respect for Thomas and what have you.”

Whether the Falcons have enough talent on hand to compete for a Super Bowl is a key question for Blank.

“I think we have to evaluate everything,” Blank said. “We do that every year. We’ll do that again this year. We have to look at what happened.”
