Star Florida State cornerback P.J. Williams, projected by many as a late first-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, was arrested on a DUI charge early Friday morning in Tallahassee, NFL Network is reporting.

NFL Media, citing the Leon County (Fla.) jail, reported that Williams was arrested at 3:08 a.m. Friday by the Florida State University Police Department. FSU is in Leon County.

TMZ reported that Williams posted $500 bond and was released later this morning.

Williams, 21, participated in FSU's pro day with many of his Seminoles teammates on Tuesday, and, per TMZ, "left a very positive impression on NFL scouts going into the April 30th draft."

But now, it’s conceivable that Williams’ stock could drop, particularly given that this isn’t his first run-in with the law. As NFL.com points out:

He was also cited with tickets after a traffic accident in November, although the case has drawn far more attention from NFL teams than a typical accident would. The New York Times wrote a scathing investigative report on the case, suggesting that police should have charged Williams with hit-and-run because he fled the scene of an accident on foot.
