He's won a handful of World Series. He's a member of the 3,000-hit club (entered with a homer, too). He's a Silver Slugger and a Gold Glove. He was a Rookie of the Year.
And on Thursday, he literally walked off the field in his final career home game at Yankee Stadium as a winner.
After putting the Yankees ahead in the seventh, Derek Jeter was asked to lift the team once again in the bottom of the ninth when the score was tied.

"It's like a movie," teammate Chase Headley said. "You look up there and you see who's hitting third and you're like, really? This can't happen, can it? You're surprised but you're not surprised."
The timing was too good to be scripted.
Jeter stepped into the batter's box. In came the pitch and off the Captain's bat it went, an opposite-field single to right. Walk-off.
He touched first base, and the winning run scored before he leapt with both arms in the air.
He was greeted by teammates old and new on the field afterward. Andy Pettitte, Mariano Rivera and Jorge Posada were all there to witness it, so was former Yankees manager Joe Torre.
"I almost started crying driving here today," Jeter said Thursday night after New York's 6-5 win over Baltimore. "I think I've done a pretty good job of controlling my emotions throughout the course of my career. ... Today I wasn't able to do it."
Next for Jeter is a series against the Boston Red Sox. Thursday was his last time playing shortstop, but Jeter promises he will be the designated hitter at some point vs. Boston "out of respect for the Red Sox, their fans and the rivalry."
In his career, Jeter is a .265 career hitter with 14 homers in 142 games at Fenway Park.
