Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter has overseen two major eruptions this season.

In the opener, the offense went for a team-record 568 total yards.

In the third game against Tampa Bay, the offense helped to score 56 points, the second-highest total in franchise history.

But Koetter has not been pleased with the offense’s seven turnover over the past two games.

Against the Bengals, quarterback Matt Ryan tossed three interceptions.

Against Tampa Bay, backup quarterback T.J. Yates tossed a pick-six, Antone Smith, Devonta Freeman and tight end Levin Toilolo all had fumbles.

“We definitely have to get that trend stopped,” Koetter said. “We’ve got to hang on to the football. Whether if it be interceptions or fumbles, that’s our top priority. We’ve been doing plenty of things well, but that’s not one of them.”

Falcons wide receiver Roddy White said the players are aware of the issue.

“We always set goals at the beginning of the year and we’re right where we want to be offensively, but we still lead the league in turnovers; I think we’re like 31st in the league in turnovers, that’s terrible, so we have to fix those problems, hold onto the ball and just improve in that area,” White said.
