Why they can contend: The record isn't pretty, but of the Golden Eagles' 14 losses, 13 were to tournament teams and 10 were by eight points or less. They were crushed by Louisville in the Big East tournament, but the Golden Eagles were playing their third day in a row while the Cardinals were playing their first game. They're efficient on offense and they put experience on the floor. The school has a decent track record of tournament success, getting to the second round two of the past three years. Fun fact: Rather than address Williams as "Coach Williams,"players call their coach "Coach Buzz" or just plain Buzz.
