How the winning run scored:

Brandon Guyer's 2RBI line drive single to center fielder Jose Constanza scored Nevin Ashley and Kyle Hudson from third and second respectively, to give the Bulls a 2-1 lead.

Ashley got on base with a leadoff walk and went to second when Hudson followed with a single to pitcher Todd Redmond. They advanced to second and third on a throwing error by Redmond on a force attempt at second on Tim Beckham's at bat. The Bulls' win snapped a 6 game Braves winning streak, and allowed the visitors to avoid a four game sweep.

At the plate:

The Braves matched the Bulls 10 hits, including two each by left fielder Stefan Gartrell, designated hitter Ernesto Mejia, first baseman Christian Marrero, and right fielder Jordan Parraz. Mejia's double to left in the third allowed Gartrell, who got on with a two-out walk, to score the Braves only run. The Braves did not score following leadoff doubles in the 7th by Parraz and 9th Marrero. Braves' leadoff batters also reached base in five other innings without scoring.

On the mound:

Starter Redmond (1-1) gave up six hits with five strikeouts and two walks on 91 pitches (58 strikes) in five innings. After allowing the two runs with one out in the fifth, he got out of the inning with successive strikeouts, one swinging, one looking.
