In the first of three selections, the Atlanta Dream selected Syracuse guard Brittney Sykes in Thursday night’s WNBA Draft.

The Dream also drafted 5-foot-11 Tennessee guard Jordan Reynolds with the 19th overall pick and 6-foot-4 Duke forward Oderah Chidom with the 31st overall pick.

“We are very excited and happy to select Brittney Sykes at No. 7,” coach Michael Cooper said. “She is an excellent defensive player as well as a nice person that will fit well with our team. She will help with our goal of winning a championship.

“Jordan and Oderah will provide us depth as we begin training camp later this month.”
