There is no date for surgery scheduled yet for Josef Martinez, Atlanta United manager Frank de Boer said on Thursday.

De Boer said many decisions must be made, including the doctor that will perform the procedure and the type of surgery.

“We will look at all the options and make the right choice,” de Boer said.

Martinez suffered a torn ACL in last week's 2-1 win at Nashville. Atlanta United will host Cincinnati on Saturday.

Ezequiel Barco said several teammates have visited Martinez to try to lift his spirits. Barco said they played PlayStation and drank Mate.

Barco described Martinez as being said because it’s difficult for a player to through any injury that will keep them out for months.

“We are all here for him, we want to help him get through this,” Barco said.

Barco said he should score on Saturday, he’s considering a tribute to Martinez. Former teammate Miguel Almiron did one half of the fusion celebration when he scored Tuesday for Newcastle that he and Martinez used to do.
