University of Detroit-Mercy guard Corey Allen is transferring to Georgia State, Georgia State announced in a statement.

Out of high school, Allen was among the top 10 players in Michigan.

As a freshman, Allen averaged 14.4 points per game with Detroit. He tied for the team lead with 60 3-pointers last season.

“We are very excited to have Corey sign with us,” head coach Ron Hunter said in a statement. “From the time we first met and he interacted with the team, we saw an instant fit. Corey is an extremely talented guard who will be able to learn our system quickly. He is able to score and distribute the ball well while being very good from 3-point range.”

Allen will redshirt during the 2018-2019 season.
