Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray answers a few questions from reporters about the SEC Championship game matchup against LSU:
Q: Although Georgia beat Georgia Tech last week with little input from the running game, how important is tailback play this week?
A: I think it's huge for us. We like to keep things balanced. ... We want to be able to run the ball. We want to be able to chew up clock to keep our defense on the sidelines. ... Last week against Georgia Tech, Coach [Mike] Bobo saw some things in their secondary that we could just hit them on and execute in the passing game, and we were able to do that. [But] we really want to be able to run the ball, and I think we need to be able to run the ball against LSU in order to get the victory and put some points on the board.
Q: What do you think of LSU’s defense?
A: You think of SEC defenses, you think of speed, and they have a whole other speed on top of that. They're very fast up front. They get after the quarterback. They're one of the top defenses when it comes to sacks. And their secondary, they have some of the best corners we'll probably face all year.
Q: LSU is known for going on high-scoring runs within games, such as its 41-3 stretch against Arkansas last week. If LSU scores a quick 10 or 14 points on you, what is the key to combating one of those runs?
A: Just keep working. ... We've been down a couple games this year, and we've been able to come back and pull to victory. We're a team that's not going to worry too much if we get down or this or that. This whole season, people have been doubting us. We're a bunch of fighters. I think no matter what goes on, we've got to stick to the game plan and continue working hard and go out and make plays.
