UGA's next opponent: Coastal Carolina

Last time played: This is the first meeting between Georgia and Coastal Carolina in football.

Coastal Carolina on offense: Coastal mustered only 13 net yards rushing in a 20-3 victory over Catawba last week. Junior quarterback Aramis Hillary, a first-year starter, completed 16 of 24 passes for 220 yards and a touchdown.

Coastal Carolina on defense: Senior cornerback Josh Norman has 11 career interceptions, eight of them in 2009.

Coastal Carolina on special teams: Coastal is breaking in new kickers this season with a redshirt freshman punter and a transfer sophomore placekicker.

What you should know: Coastal Carolina is a school of 8,700 students in Conway, S.C., which is near Myrtle Beach. The football program is in its ninth year and plays its home games in a 9,000-seat stadium. Coastal Carolina is an FCS (formerly Division I-AA) member and opened this season with a 30-23 victory over Furman.

What you might not know: Coastal Carolina's nickname is one of the more unusual in sports: the Chanticleers. According to the school, a Chanticleer (pronounced SHON-ti-cleer) "comes from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales [and] is a rooster who rules the barnyard with cunning and wit. His competitiveness never wanes as he battles to the end, using his brains to come out on top every time."

Coach: David Bennett, 121-52 in his 16th season as a college head coach, including 58-35 in his ninth season at Coastal Carolina.
