Georgia assistant football coaches John Lilly and Bryan McClendon received salary increases this week as a result of their recent promotions.
Lilly, who coaches tight ends, was made co-special teams coordinator last month. McClendon, who coaches running backs, had recruiting coordinator recently added to his duties. The reason given on the salary-action forms were “increase in job duties.”
As a result, both coaches will make $250,000 in base salary over the next fiscal year. That represents a $15,000-raise over last year. UGA assistant coaches generally work on one-year contracts that run from July 1 to June 30.
The raises were reported in salary-action documents obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in response to a recent open records request.
